How to choose the subjects?

This is one of the biggest questions which might haunt you. Most of the students waste their time, while selecting the subjects. But now UPSC has done away with particular subjects during prelims, so that you get to prepare straight way. Choose your subject with utmost care. Select the subject with which you are familiar and never opt for it if you are not comfortable. Your choice must not only be based on your interest, but on the availability of the study material also.

How to prepare?

Structure your preparation for every stage, to make milestone in the primary attempt itself. Go through previous year’s question papers to develop a right concept. Thoroughly study the history of India, Indian policy and Governance, General Science, economic and social development, environment and ecology, India and world geography and current affairs for the prelims. Once you have cleared the prelims, you move to prepare for the mains. Read newspapers and magazines. Read testimonials of senior and successful candidates.
