You must be knowing that the Last date for submission of Online Application High Court of Gujarat at Sola, Ahmedabad, Recruitment of Civil Judges was May 15, 2012.

We hope that you guys have applied FOR Recruitment of Civil Judges, High Court of Gujarat at Sola, Ahmedabad Ref., 320 vacancies (33 Regular + 287 Ad-hoc), existing & future, in the cadre of Civil Judges, in the Pay-Scale of Rs.27,700-770- 33,090-930- 40,530-1080- 44,850 + allowances as admissible under the Rules.

Preliminary Examination (Elimination Test): June 17, 2012 

Notification: Elimination Test for Recruitment to the Cadre of Civil Judges Vis-à-vis the 320 vacancies, to be conducted at Ahmedabad during 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM on June 17, 2012 (Sunday). The Eligible Candidates may download their Call Letter-cum-Admission Slip w.e.f. June 17, 2012.

Total Marks: 100

Duration: 2 Hours

Mode: Multiple Choice Questions [Assigned Mark To Each Question: 1]

Negative Marking: Yes [0.33 Marks will be deducted for Each  Wrong/Multiple Answer]

Language of Preliminary Examination Question Paper: English

Criteria To be eligible for Mail Written Examination: Minimum 50% Marks in the Preliminary Examination.

Note- Preliminary Examination Marks shall not be taken into consideration for preparing the Final Merit List of the candidates.

  • The Indian Penal Code, 1860.
  • The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
  • The Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
  • The Gujarat Prohibition Act, 1949 (Old Bombay Prohibition Act)
  • The Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. (Only Chapter XVII)

Part – B

  • The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.
  • The Limitation Act, 1963.
  • The Indian Contract Act, 1872.
  • The Constitution of India – [Part- III - Fundamental Rights (Articles 12 to 35A)& Part- IVA - Fundamental Duties]

Part – C

  • General Knowledge
  • Test of Reasoning
  • Numerical & Mental Ability
  • English Language
  • Basics of Computer Applications

Main Written Examination (Descriptive Type): August / September, 2012 [Tentative]

        

The main written examination shall consist of two papers, each of 100 Marks.

Duration of Exam: 3 Hours

Language of Question Papers of Main Written Examination: English

Eligibility For Being called for viva-voce:

Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes (Minimum 45% Marks, provided the candidate has secured minimum 40% Marks in each paper.)

For All Other Category candidates (Minimum 50% Marks, provided the candidate has secured minimum 40% Marks in each paper.)

  • The Indian Penal Code, 1860.
  • The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
  • The Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
  • The Probation of Offenders’ Act, 1958. : 5 :
  • The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000.
  • The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005.
  • The Gujarat Prevention of Gambling Act, 1887.
  • The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.
  • Pre-conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act, 1994.
  • The Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881(Only Ch. XVII).
  • The Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969.

Paper – II

  • The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.
  • The Limitation Act, 1963.
  • The Indian Contract Act, 1872.
  • The Indian Partnership Act, 1932.
  • The Specific Relief Act, 1963.
  • The Gujarat Court Fees Act, 2004.
  • Test of English and Gujarati Language.

Viva-voce:

The object of the Viva-voce is to assess the suitability of the candidate for the cadre by judging the mental alertness, knowledge of law, clear and logical exposition, balance of judgment, skills, attitude, ethics, power of assimilation, power of communication, character and intellectual depth and the like, of the candidate.

Total Marks: 50

Eligible to be included in the Select List: Minimum 40% Marks in the Viva-voce.

Final Selection:

Selection of candidates shall be made on the basis of aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the Main Written Examination & Viva-voce.
